Dr Charles Burney (1726 – 1814) was a principal figure in the cultural life of Georgian England who spent some of his formative years in King’s Lynn.  He was organist, composer, traveller, musicologist and impresario.  The Turners brought Burney to the town as organist at St Margaret’s Priory Church in 1751.  In 1752 his equally famous novelist daughter, Frances (Fanny), was born in Chapel Street.

On this walk discover the particular places and people associated with the Burney family and end the walk at King’s Lynn Minster.

Meet Dr Paul Richards outside St Nicholas Chapel at  3pm.
