Never say never again, and how true that is. Having made their first attempt at a gentle retirement in 2019 and now with an astonishing three 'final' tours in the can, The Searchers had agreed that only a very special opportunity would tempt them to don their instruments, not to mention those iconic black suits, and appear on stage again.
Well, that chance did arise, and the request was impossible to ignore. Would The Searchers like to perform at some high-profile UK festival dates in the summer of 2025, and there was only one answer, a big resounding YES!
Their influence on the world of youth music has been wide ranging and such stellar names as Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, The Ramones, The Byrds and so many more have happily and generously owned up to having been inspired by their rich harmonies and the beautiful sound of their jangling twelve string guitars.
Their list of chart successes both here in the U.K and across the globe is never to be forgotten. Sweets For My Sweet, Sugar & Spice, Needles & Pins, Don`t Throw Your Love Away, When You Walk In The Room, What Have They Done To The Rain, Love Potion Number Nine, Goodbye My Love. And that is just a selection of their hits.
The guys will need to familiarise themselves once more with their very full set list in order to be fully 'match fit', so some live appearances have been specially arranged ahead of time. You now have the very last chance to wallow in a magical evening of nostalgia and to say what surely will be a final goodbye to The Searchers.
