As they open their season, join King’s Lynn Festival Chorus for an uplifting evening celebrating the rich tradition of the English anthem. At the heart of the programme is
Parry’s coronation anthem I was glad!, a cornerstone of sacred music and royal ceremony across the ages.
The concert also features choral gems including Elgar’s Benedictus, S. S. Wesley’s Ascribe unto the Lord, and works by Stanford, William Mathias, and contemporary
composer Jonathan Dove — showcasing the enduring beauty and evolution of the English anthem from its Victorian grandeur to vibrant modern-day expressions.

The chorus is conducted by Music Director Ben Horden and joined at the keys by acclaimed organist Francesca Massey.
