Rossini: William Tell Overture
Grieg: Peer Gynt Suite No.1
Berlioz: Harold in Italy
soloist Milena Simovic
Join us for a rich and dramatic afternoon of orchestral storytelling. We open with the thrilling William Tell Overture by Rossini — a piece packed with drama, beauty, and of course, its famous galloping finale. Then, be transported to the fjords and folklore of Norway with Grieg’s enchanting Peer Gynt Suite No.1, including the dreamy Morning Mood and the mischievous In the Hall of the Mountain King.
The centrepiece of the concert is Berlioz’s evocative Harold in Italy, featuring acclaimed viola soloist Milena Simovic. Inspired by Lord Byron’s wandering hero, this semi-symphonic work takes you on a powerful emotional journey through the Italian countryside, with the viola as the introspective voice at its heart.
This is music that paints pictures and stirs the imagination — a perfect way to spend your afternoon!
