Young Finnish cellist, Daniel Schultz, studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and includes in his programme music by his famous compatriot. The tragic Malinconia was inspired by the death of members of the Sibelius family in a typhus epidemic. Dvorak’s Rondo brings more optimistic charm to the programme while Chopin’s impassioned and virtuosic cello sonata concludes it. Daniel has won prizes in Finland, Italy and China and performed as a soloist with prominent orchestras, including the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. Pianist Sejin Yoon is currently an undergraduate at the Royal Academy of Music and has been selected for the Sir Elton John Global Exchange Programme and joins the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
